I do a variety of things, but I am focused on swimming right now. I like to play some videogames and watch some television shows. I mainly watch the popular animes, Doctor Who, and shows like How I Met Your Mother. In the future, I would like to try some more thrilling stuff like skydiving and bungee jumping. Some other hobbies may include traveling, fishing, biking, sleeping, and every now and then cooking.

Cupertino TVC, Cupertino, California

Kelly Chen, Co-President

Senior, Cupertino High School, Cupertino, California

I wouldn't call myself athletic, but I have been swimming ever since I was a child. I try to swim as often as I can, but when I'm not, I like to spend my time with friends. They always brighten up my day. Besides those, I also love being on class council--I have been class treasurer for the past three years and I love every day of it. Some of my other hobbies are sleeping, eating, using the Internet, and reading.

Sophomore, Cupertino High School, Cupertino, California

Hi, I am just an anti-social couch potato that does nothing but eat, sleep and take up space on the couch, but if my bio was about this, I wouldn't look so good -- It's all about first impressions, right? So when I'm not a fat lazy couch potato, which is not often, I enjoy a myriad of activities. I love to draw, read (LOTR is amazing to all you fans out there), and go out with friends. Since I'm obliged to say at least one good thing about myself, I've completed all my piano testing and am very involved in my school's Robotics program. Thanks for reading my unnecessarily long bio and I hope you have a wonderful enjoyable day.

Tong Wu, President

Senior, Harker High School, San Jose, California

Some activities that amuse me include eating, traveling, reading, watching movies, playing sports, hanging out with friends, people watching, or even doing nothing. Some things that amuse me include soft things, scented paper, matte texture, tea, smiles, and music. Hopefully these activities/things will give you a better idea of who I am. If you're lucky, you might even get to know me in person and not just base me off of a meager list I made in 3 minutes. You are awesome, have a fantabulous day.

If there's one thing that I'm committed to, it's swimming - been swimming non-stop for the past 6 years and don't plan on ending soon. I also love to have fun - which to me is hanging out with my friends and constantly laughing (even if it's me getting laughed at). If there's something that I'm always doing, it's probably listening to music, but only if the music it's chill and relaxing. I also enjoy teasing other people, so if I ever start making fun of you, just remember that I'm not actually serious about it. Otherwise, my hobbies include gaming, writing, coding, studying, public speaking, and guitar.

Whether it's a new book, new language, or new food, I love to try new things! In my free time, when I'm not reading up on yummy recipes (though I can't cook to save my life). I enjoy a variety of activities, like playing piano, running, and walking my German Shepherd puppy <3. I'm also involved with my school's Japanese National Honor Society, as well as our Quiz Bowl Team.

I enjoy all sports in general. My favorites are soccer and football. Some of the hobbies that I enjoy are making duct tape wallets, eating, listening to music, and playing computer games. I am interested in Computer Science because I love playing video games, and being able to program them is even more fun! Although I am not at this level yet, I hope to be able to code a complex, full scale video game in the future.

Katherine Chen, President and TeenageViews Section Editor

Senior, Mission San Jose High School, Fremont, California

I have tried so many activities in my past, for example basketball, badminton, art, piano, swimming, and the list could just continue on and on, but the only activity that I have persisted for over ten years is dance, mainly ballet and contemporary. I also love kpop and dramas and am striving to balance my schoolwork, dance, and of course, Teenage Views. My favourite family member is my Alaskan malamute sister, Summer, and my parents have both seemed to accept that as a fact.

There's a lot of very specific things I like; for example, the smell of rain, 0.38 ballpoint pens, the blue-gray color of the sky, Kraft mac and cheese or the stray cats in my neighborhood that I'm allergic to. Reading and writing are both things I've loved since I was younger. I am and have always been obsessed with the Harry Potter series since my childhood, but have lately discovered a fondness for Jane Austen novels. I also play viola in my school's orchestra.

I do not really enjoy playing sports, but I enjoy playing card games and strategy games. However, I still enjoy experiencing the outdoors. Some of my favorite activities include hiking and camping. Consequently, I am a boy scout. I have went on a ten day backpacking trip in New Mexico, where I participated in activities such as blacksmithing and throwing tomahawks. In addition, I have survived a camping trip on a island, where I caught fish and lobsters for lunch. I have also caught sharks. Throughout my scouting adventure, I have also found myself piloting a real plane, as unbelievable as that sounds. As a result, I have experienced many unique experiences that I would love to share.

My hobbies include swimming, golf, and piano. Currently, I am an active member in the DACA Senior Select group and swim competitively every month. Furthermore, I have been at The First Tee of Silicon Valley golf program ever since I was seven years old, which helped me develop into a person who is full of values. Through persistence and hard work, I am now an Ace-certified participant. At The First Tee, I am an assistant coach, where I introduce 1st-3rd graders to the game of golf. Additionally, I enjoy playing the piano because it allows me to express my emotions and passion in a unique way. Like the old saying goes, don't judge a book by its cover. I was born with Osteogenesis Imperfecta, type 3, which is a condition where I generally have very brittle bones.

With this condition, I am under five feet tall, have had numerous fractures and surgeries, and cannot do many activities, especially sports. But because of these challenges, OI has inspired me to enjoy other activities I am capable of, including cooking, listening to alternative music, a bit of sewing, watching horror movies, sightseeing, learning about anatomy and physiology, and above all, expressing myself through art. In addition, I am a perfectionist, passionate learner, nature lover, grateful daughter, and positively, still a dreamer.

Senior, Gunn High School, Palo Alto, California

I am addicted to winning, whether it is something as significant as a student government election to something as trivial as a Scrabble tournament. I have always been extremely interested in learning, competing, and maintaining an annoyingly perfectionistic outlook on life. My plans after high school include studying biomedical engineering and then pursuing a career in medicine in order to become a doctor. I like to involve myself in numerous extracurricular activities and do not have a lot of spare time, but when I do I like to spend it watching anime, reading, listening to Asian music, playing video games, eating, sleeping, traveling, and writing fanfiction.

I have never been a very athletic person. Growing up I was mostly the quiet girl who found comfort in animals. While animals and the volunteer work I do for them are still a major part of my life, I have also found happiness in mt school's Marching Band. I am a proud member of the Colorguard, providing extraordinary visuals to accompany the music and field work. My free time is mostly occupied by Netflix and naps.

If there is one thing I love about life, it is my freedom. As a no collar, free-spirited person, I always try to find ways to live life to the fullest by looking for new experiences or reliving enjoyable memories. Volunteering is a huge part of my life, and is one of my favorite hobbies. Going to various events generates more relationships, helps me understand society better, and makes me feel better as a person because I am giving back to the community.

As a Sherlockian, my favorite quote is "My mind rebels at stagnation. Give me problems, give me work, give me the most abstruse cryptogram, or the most intricate analysis, and I am in my own proper atmosphere. But I abhor the dull routine of existence. I crave for mental exaltation." My hobbies include solving puzzles online, from cryptograms to sudoku, playing guitar, and reading detective novels. I always love to be challenged with new concepts and love being exposed to different cultures and ideas.

Things I like to do include boxing, badminton, track, writing, hiking, jogging, drawing and daydreaming. I'm kind of a fitness freak who likes to do anything physically challenging, and I just recently got into Tai Chi. I am also a time traveler who can take a ten minute break watching videos on Youtube and suddenly travel two hours into the future. It's a weird ability of mine that I'm trying to get rid of. Favorite foods include grapes, apples, oranges, strawberries, plums, persimmons, and pretty much any other fruit that's not mushy. I look forward to travelling across the world later in my life. My top destination is currently France.
